Budget 2011

28/03/2011

Following last week’s Budget, we have launched two new complementary services to help tax payers and businesses throughout the region manage tax rises and spending cuts.

Called Business Builder, the service uses leading edge software to help local businesses discover new ways to create more jobs, profit and wealth. A free of charge 2011 Tax Minimisation Review that identifies significant tax savings by ensuring only the amount of tax legally possible is paid, is also being offered.

At Meades & Company we are forecasting a bleak year ahead with significant job losses locally, the disappearance of public sector contracts, growing numbers of failing businesses as well as a benefits system unable to support the needs of the public. In addition, local employees will be expected to start paying up to 60p income tax from every extra pound earned.

Despite being billed as a ‘Budget for growth’, Managing Director Paul Meades believes that it is businesses, and not budgets, which offer the best hope of growth and improvement, by replacing jobs and lost wealth.

“The Chancellor’s measures to relax planning restrictions, set up new enterprise zones and cut corporation tax rates, will only ever help a bit,” commented Paul Meades. “Businesses are the real growth engines here and are what really matters. That’s why it’s more important than ever to talk to us about how to create more jobs and generate extra income.”
